  • Beskrivelse: A view of the River Váh and the panorama of the town of Piešťany is followed by film shots showing thermal springs and curative mud being manually loaded to a bucket and carried away to be used for preparation of a mud bath/pack for a waiting patient. The mud temperature is up to 35° Celsius. The spa treatment procedures also include baths in a mud pool, dry packs of patients lying on a bed, exercises on rehabilitation machines. You can also see the museum of crutches with show cases displaying crutches having been thrown away by cured patients - this certainly proves how successful the local spa treatment is. Then we are offered a view of the Thermia Palace and the hustle and bustle in front of it. Patients sitting in rickshaws are taken to different baths and for other spa treatment. Also the terraces of the Royal Grandhotel are very busy, we can see spa guests walking there and children playing around. A folk ensemble is performing on an open air stage (its members are wearing folk costumes). In the vicinity of Piešťany we can see ruins of the Tematín Castle and Čachtice, tempting people to have a walk there. The idyll is further enriched by a view of a pasturing herd of sheep. Also the Štefánik memorial located at Na Bradle is attracting the spa guests. Sport oriented visitors to Piešťany are playing tennis, canoeing, horse riding, in the winter they can go skiing, sledging, skating. Women wearing folk costumes are emerging from a church; they are sitting by a table and embroidering at the sunset. A film view of a statue of a man breaking his crutches.
